Atmosphere
Full of dark wood, rich colors and subtle animal influenced designs, this is a dark and comfortable lounge to kick back with a cocktail and one of their amazing bread appetizers. The dining room has a full-view window wall looking out to the savanah where you can watch animals roam while enjoying your meal. An upscale, trendy decor, but completely casual and family-friendly for both dinner and lunch. Come as you are and enjoy what we deem as one of the best restaurants on property. If the wait is too long for a table, grab a seat at the bar or one of the tables in the lounge and have an appetizer or two.

Review
The African Starr Mojito is a fresh take on your typical mojito. Made with special African liquors and fresh mint, this is your regular mojito kicked up a notch. Refreshing, crisp and just the right amount of mint make this one classy cocktail to enjoy slowly with your decadent appetizers.
The Malawi Mango Margarita is a smooth, creamy blend of tequila, tangerine liquor and mango puree. Not a quick drink cocktail, this is best enjoyed throughout your entire meal. The addition of the tangerine liquor gives it a unique flavor profile to perk up a typical mango margarita.

You'll find this dark, intimate and upscale lounge overlooking Boma. The open-air bar is a nice place to wait for your reservation or just enjoy a nice glass of wine.

Disappointingly, there are no unique drinks to this lounge...though oddly a "Victoria Falls Mist" cocktail is available over at Jiko. Ask the bartender for one and they should be able to make it anyway.

Atmosphere
A comfortable little lounge with several seats at the bar along with a few tables and plush chairs. In the afternoon it's a quiet place to carry on a conversation with a friend but as dinner approaches, the bar can get very busy with people waiting for their reservation. Being an open-air bar it provides great views down onto Boma, but can get rather noisy once the restaurant opens. You can take your drink to go and wander the other detailed areas of the resort. Go cuddle up by the fireplace inside, or outside at the firepit.

Finding this full-service pool bar is a bit tricky - the pool area is across the street from the main entrance of the resort. But once you get there, you'll find a nice, simple secluded pool area, perfect for relaxin'.

Atmosphere
The strange location of the pool at this resort almost makes you think that adding a pool here was an afterthought. From the resort, you have to walk down a long sidewalk out past the driveway where taxis are waiting and people are pulling up with their cars to check in. Yup, parade past all of them, cross the street and into the gated pool area. For how expensive this resort is, that's not the most magical way to get to the pool.

If you want to get away from the hustle & bustle of your trip, this is a good place to start. Once you're at the pool, it is so secluded you might think you're actually out in the plains of Africa. All that you can see past the pool is tall grass and trees. The bar sits up high, overlooking the pool area. You'll find about 15 stools around the bar along with a few umbrella tables and chairs.

Jiko serves up African, Indian and Mediterranean cuisine. This elegant restaurant features an open kitchen that provides a great view of the chefs in action. Jiko is located in the main Animal Kingdom Lodge lobby on the first floor.

Just past the host stand you will find an intimate bar with just 4 seats along with a few coffee tables and chairs to enjoy while waiting for your table, or just to grab one of their unique drink offerings and an appetizer from Jiko's menu. You'll find one of the largest selections of South African wine in North America on the menu here.

Like a mirage in the middle of the serenghti this pool bar bekons you to order a drink. Ok, maybe the heat has gotten to us; this full-service bar is a relaxing place to hang out with one of their specialty drinks on a toasty Florida day.

Only a few bags of chips at the bar, but you can pick up a house phone right next to the bar and order from a variety of sandwiches that will be delivered to you.

Atmosphere
This open-air outdoor bar has about 12 barstools available or you could grab a close table with an umbrella if you'd prefer. They do have a large flat-screen tv at the back of the bar as well. The cute thatched roof makes it look like it's just a little hut out on the plains.

Review
The bar also features a "Special of the Day" cocktail that is not on the regular menu.

On our visit we were lucky enough to try the Special of the Day - Swahili Colada, a delicious mix of Pina Colada, rum, and topped off with a floater of Myers's Dark Rum. The mix of the sweet Pina Colada with the dark rum makes for a nice savory tropical drink. Highly recommed this one if available while you are there. (And if not, just ask for it - they'll know what you are talking about!)

Caribbean Limeade is a crisp, refreshing drink that goes down just too easy. The pineapple vodka mixed with melon liquor and topped off with lemonade is the perfect accompaniment to a hot summer day. Nice sour tang with a smooth, sweet finish.

If you are in the mood for something really uniquely flavored, order the Southern Sunrise. That one & only flavor of Southern Comfort mixed with an orange slushie puree makes for a surprisingly rich flavored drink. Add in the passion fruit drizzled around the sides of the glass and everyone will be asking you what you are drinking. This drink is best left for those who like a stronger tasting drink, not for the frou-frou "fruit punch with no taste of alcohol" crowd.

Paradise Punch is a pleasant blend of coconut, acai and pineapple. A simple fruity cocktail that pleases all. Perfectly fine drink, but we won't waste our $ on it again when there are other better options available...like the Southern Sunrise.
