TERRA – NEW!
Culinary Offerings:

  • Trick'n Chick'n Curry with Basmati Rice featuring Gardein Chick'n Breast - $3.75
  • Chili Colorado with House Made Chips & Cashew Cheese, featuring Gardein Beefless Tips - $3.75
  • Chocolate Cake with Passion Fruit Sorbet and Coconut Foam - $2.75

Beverage Selections:

  • Paul Dolan Sauvignon Blanc - $4.25
  • Paul Dolan Pinot Nior - $4.25
  • Silk Berry Smoothie - $3.75

Review 9-29-12: We at PTTP are big time meat lovers, so we were intriqued to see how this not-chicken-but-tastes-like-chicken would rate. To our surprise, the Trick'n Chick'n comes thisclose to passing as actual chicken. The texture, color and consistnecy is nearly exact - but there is that something that reminds you this is not actual meat. The dish could've used more curry flavoring, but otherwise it's decent. However, the Chili Colorado is a tofu-based chili that hits you with a disturbing mouth feel when you are expecting to taste a regular chili. If you are a tofu person you'll likely enjoy it. The chips are delicious, and the cashew cheese did not particularly stand out as anything special. The Pinot Noir is a typical moderately dry Pinot, nothing worth writing home about. The Silk Berry Smoothie was the stand out hit for us - smooth, creamy and delicious!

CARIBBEAN

Culinary Offerings:

  • Ropa Vieja with Cilantro Rice - $3.50
  • Jerk Spiced Chicken Drumstick with Mango Chutney - $3.25

Beverage Selections:

  • Bacardi Frozen Dragon Berry Colada - $7.75 (in souvenir cup $12.75)
  • Bacardi Torched Cherry Frozen Cherry Limeade - $7.75 (in souvenir cup $12.75)

Review 10-21-12: The Bacardi Frozen Dragon Berry Colada is a sweet drink with a light tartness that makes it a little more interesting than your typical frozen drink. The flavors are rather mild and it's not winning the strongest drink at the event award, so it's a nice light drink with a slightly unique flavor that will be enjoyed by many.

Beverage Selections:

  • Iron Horse Fairytale Cuvee - $8.75
  • Xanté - $6
  • Xanté Sunshine - $7.50

Review 10-10-12: We were big fans of the Xante & Xante Sunshine last year, and still love it this year! The Xante is a cognac with pear and spicy vanilla flavors. A strong drink that might not be for everyone. Order the Xante Sunshine to get the cognac mixed with some fruit juices for a sweeter, lighter to drink, (yet strong), cocktail. The pours also are a bit larger than last year, and the price only went up by a quarter. Good deal!

  • Lettuce Wrap with Roast Pork and Kimchi Slaw - $3.25
  • Mung Bean Pancake with Shrimp and Kimchi Sauce - $3

Beverage Selections:

  • Bohae Black Raspberry Wine-Bokbunjajoo - $4
  • Jinro Chamisul Soju Fruit Slushy - $7.50
  • Jinro Chamisul Soju - $6.50

Review 10-10-12: The Lettuce Wrap with Pork, while very small, is tasty with a decent mix of flavors and sauces. Not amazing, but the best option here. The Mung Bean Pancake with Shrimp is a very odd item. A dry, cake-y item with a very heavy sesame oil flavor with random chunks of little shrimp stuck in it. The intense sesame oil flavor overpowers whatever other flavors might be in there, and is unedible. We like weird foods and flavors, but this is just bad. The review doesn't get much better with the drinks. The Bohae Black Raspberry Wine is like drinking an intoxicated raspberry. You better really like raspberrys to finish this bitter fruity wine. The Jinro Chamisul Soju Fruit Slushy is a complete waste of money - it's a cup of blended ice with the slightest hint of orange flavor, let alone alcohol.

SOUTH AFRICA

  • Seared Filet of Beef with Smashed Sweet Potatoes and Braai Sauce - $5
  • Spinach and Paneer Cheese Pocket - $3.25

Beverage Selections:

  • Fairview Sauvignon Blanc - $2.50

BREWER'S COLLECTION

Beverage Selections:

  • Radeberger Pilsner
  • Altenmünster Oktoberfest
  • Altenmünster Dunkel
  • Hövels
  • Schöfferhofer Weizen
  • Schöfferhofer Grapefruit
  • Berliner Kindl Dark
  • Sion Kölsch
    All beer above: 6oz. $3.50  | 12oz. $6.75  |  22oz. $12.25
All 22oz. receive a Souvenir Stein
  • Beer Flight #1 - Four 6oz. Pours - $12 (Radeberger Pilsner, Schofferhofer Grapefruit, Hovels, Berliner Kindl Dark)
  • Beer Flight #2 - Four 6oz. Pours - $12 (Scion Kolsch, Altenmunster Oktoberfest, Schofferhofer Weizen, Altenmunster Dunkel)

Review 10-1-12: The Berliner Kindl Dark - while dark in color, strikes out in dark flavor. If you're jonesin' for a good dark brew, this will not satisfy that craving. Rather simple in flavor, with a light hint of caramel and very little bitter aftertaste. Not a bad beer, just not what we were expecting. Even a dark beer hater could polish this one off without any fuss.

The Sion Kölsch is another simple, mildly flavored and lightly hoppy beer. Easy to drink and cold - would make for a good after-mowin'-lawn beer.

Review 10-21-12: We finally got to try the Schöfferhofer Grapefruit beer (it's been out every other time we've stopped!) This unique brew is currently only available in the United States right here at Epcot! If you've ever had any of the other "fruity flavored" beers on the market, this is very similar in style. It's a light lager with moderate to mild hoppiness but kicks you right in the tastebuds with an intense grapefruit punch. If fruity beers are not your thing, skip this one, as this is not just a hint of flavor. If you enjoy a unique beer, this is right up your alley! (P.S. It is not the best accompaniment with funky cheeses.)

GERMANY

  • Schinken Nudel (Pasta Gratin with Ham and Cheese) - $3.25

CHEESE

Culinary Offerings:

  • Cheese Fondue with Sourdough Bread - $3.25
  • Trio of Artisan Cheeses: Beecher's Flagship Reserve Cheddar, La Bonne Vie Goat Brie and Rogue River Creamery Echo Mountain Blue Cheese - $4.50

Beverage Selections:

  • Sterling Vintner's Collection Sauvignon Blanc - $2.50
  • Sterling Vintner's Collection Riesling - $3
  • Sterling Vintner's Collection Pinot Noir - $3.50
  • Sterling Vintner's Collection Meritage - $2.50

Review 10-1-12: Ah, yes. Our favorite country "Cheese" has returned. Someday we'd like to visit that land. Anyway, onto the Trio of Artisan Cheeses review. The Trio includes a honey-drizzled Cheddar, Brie with berries and Bleu with a small toasted piece of bread. We are big-time cheese lovers and could see nothing wrong with making a meal out of some fine cheeses. We really enjoyed the Bleu, which has a moderately "funky" intensity. Not the strongest out there, but it can hold its own. The Cheddar is a medium/mild flavored cheddar that goes nicely with the addition of the honey. The Brie is the biggest let down. This one has almost zero flavor. The blandest Brie we've ever had. Even the berries couldn't save this cheese. Not the best value at the event either - the pieces are very small. For a better value, head over to Ireland for their Cheese Samper where you'll get much larger pieces, and in our opinion, better cheeses.

POLAND

Culinary Offerings:

  • Kielbasa & Potato Pierogie with Caramelized Onions and Sour Cream - $5
  • Zapiekanki-Toasted Mushroom, Caramelized Onion and Cheese Bread with House Made Ketchup - $3

Beverage Selections:

  • Chandon Carneros Chardonnay - $4.50
  • Tyskie - $6
  • Belvedere Frozen Lemon Apple "Tea" - $8.50

Review 10-1-12: The Zapiekanki (try saying that after a few glasses of wine!) is a big piece of fresh, soft bread with a pile of mushrooms, onions and cheese over it with a small drizzle of their homemade ketchup. Almost like a piece of pizza, Zapiekanki must be Polish for "comfort food" because that's what this is: ooey, gooey, cheesey simple snack. A good one for that picky eater in your group as this is seriously lacking much interesting flavor or spices of any kind. You can tell that the ketchup is homemade as it tastes a bit blander than Heinz. Even with that, it could've used a bigger drizzle of it as it got dry towards the end. A safe bet here, and you definitely get your moneys worth with this item - it's big.

To wash that down, we got a Belvedere Frozen Lemon Apple "Tea". This is another drink that joins the ranks of our favorite Sling down at Singapore. This frozen treat is packing a pretty decent punch - our cups began to freeze up on the outside quickly - and you should know what that means by now (it's strong!). Basically a lemonade slush, this is a great choice while walking around in the outrageous Florida humidity these past few days. Since it's not overpowering in flavor, it goes with just about any dish nicely. Go ahead, get one. It's so good you just might forget that you paid $8.50 for about 4oz.

Beer Flight - Four 6oz. Pours - $10 (Sam Adams Boston Lager, Sam Adams Seasonal, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, 17th Anniversary Festival Beer - Chocolate Bock)

Review 10-21-12: We decided we needed a dessert, and what better way to have it than in liquid form - the 17th Anniversary Festival Beer - Sam Adams Chocolate Bock. This beer while rich in dark brown color, isn't very dark in flavor. It's more of a moderately dark beer with a pronounced chocolate flavor throughout. If you were looking to enjoy a dark beer, this isn't going to be it. Even the non-dark beer drinker in your group will like this one, as long as they love chocolate!

FLORIDA LOCAL – NEW!

Culinary Offerings:

  • White Corn Arepa with Mangalitsa Pork Rilette and Zellwood Sweet Corn Salad - $4
  • Florida Shrimp Ceviche with Fire Roasted Vegetables, Fried Plantains and Cilantro - $4.25

  • Florida Beer Company Florida Lager - 6oz. $3  |  12oz. $5.50  |  22oz. $12
  • Florida Beer Company Key West Southernmost Wheat - 6oz. $3  |  12oz. $5.50  |  22oz. $12
  • Florida Orange Grove Key Limen - $2.75
  • Florida Orange Grove Hurricane Class 5, Florida White Sangria - $3.25

Review 10-21-12: The Florida Orange Grove Key Limen wine is very much like you took a mild, lightly sweet Chardonnay and added Rose's Lime Juice to it. This white wine packs a lot of lime flavor, but it tastes artifical. It would actually taste better as a cocktail with some vodka and Sprite. The Florida Orange Grove Hurricane Class 5 White Sangria isn't having us run to Home Depot for 2x4s. Sorry, but if you put "Hurricane" in your drink name it had better pack a mean punch. The Sangria has a dominate mango flavor and is lightly sweet and not dry at all. Both wines are fine, but we were expecting more given the names. Oh, and don't even get us started on the food items that are supposed to represent Florida - Arepa?? Ceviche?? What about gator or grouper?

  • Don't miss the regular beer cart in Canada - they are serving 3 kinds of Unibroue during Food & Wine only! Choose from Blonde de Chambly, Ephemere or Trois Pistoles - $8.50

Review 9-29-12: If you've never had the pleasure of a bowl of Le Cellier's Cheddar Cheese Soup, you have been depriving yourself! One of the all-time best dishes of the event (though it seems the bowl shrinks a little bit every year). Creamy, with a heavy bacon and cheese flavor. We are pleased to see the Wild Mushroom Filet Mignon on the menu this year, but were concerned about how it would be cooked since we prefer our steaks medium-rare. You don't get an option of how you'd like it cooked at the booth. Ours was closer to the well-done side of the spectrum. Even nearly cooked to death, the steak, since it's a filet, was still incredibly tender and delicious. The addition of the mushrooms and truffle butter sauce makes this a savory, must-eat bite at Food & Wine. We washed down our food with an Apple Ice Wine which is
a very sweet wine with a cidery-apple hint to it makes this one of the better ice wines we've tried. Smooth, and satisfying and not too overpoweringly sweet like some ice wines can be. The Mission Hill Family Estate Syrah is a savory, but not too dry wine with a hint of spice in the flavor. A perfect complement to the rich steak and soup. (Sorry for the lousy photo, but it was dark and we couldn't wait to dig in! The steak might have a rather undesirable presentation, but it's delicious.)

Review 10-21-12: The Seven Tiki Mai Tai is fruity, sweet and a bit tart. Not the most authentic Mai Tai, but it's refreshing and delicious. It's more fruity than the usual savory, almond-y richness. Still, a tasty beverage to complement your Hawaiian Pork Slider.
