Artist's Palette

While "researching" the resort, we stumbled upon some interesting items inside Saratoga Springs' counter service restaurant. Here you'll find unique snacks from drinks to chocolates to salsas to bring back to your room aside from the regular offerings on the restaurant menu.

Bloody Maré Mix
by Saratoga Salsa & Spice Company
We at PTTP are big lovers of a good Bloody Mary so we were excited to give this mix a try. By the looks of the ingredients in the bottle, we could tell that it'd be heavy on horseradish. Boy were we right. This is not a mix for everyone. If a strong kick in the pants from horseradish that clears out your sinuses til next Sunday doesn't sound like you, skip it. Oddly enough, the one of us at PTTP who generally loves lots of horseradish flavor was completely put off by the flavor and texture, while the other found the uniquely intense flavor delicious - at least for one glass. If you're feeling culinarily adventurous, give this Bloody Maré (Mare-y - get it?!) a try.

Hotter Than Hot Tomatillo Salsa
by Saratoga Salsa & Spice Company
There's almost no snack food that we love more than a good, homemade, unique, spicy salsa. After spying this tomatillo "hotter than hot" salsa on the shelf we knew we had to give it a try. Tomatillo salsas are generally more tart & sour than your typical salsa, and this was no exception. In fact, it should be called "sour-er than sour". It has a nice chunky, homemade-like consistency to it, but the strong sour flavor is overpowering to the extent that more than a chip or five is too much. But how spicy is it? Well, we at PTTP love spicy food, the hotter the better in fact, and this isn't singeing off any taste buds. It does have a kick, but the sourness overshadows any discernable heat. Though we are not fans of this particular flavor, we wouldn't be opposed to testing their other salsa another time.

Beer & Wine To Go
Along with these unique food items, you can find assorted beer and wine available for purchase, even beer that's exclusive to this resort and New York, Saratoga Lager.
