Be sure to catch the nighttime show "Kinetix", a live rock show with pyrotechnics, dancers and singers from around the world playing nightly at 9pm at Gwazi Field. Summer Nights at SeaWorld (formerly called "SeaWorld AfterDark"), has been one of our favorite times of the year to visit SeaWorld for years now. It's great to be able to enjoy this place, which can be pretty rough in the near shadeless park, once the sun starts to set and the temperatures are a little more reasonable. If you've seen the commercials then the rock and roll music being pumped through the park's speakers isn't a surprise, you might even expect the DJ booths with DJs teaching 5 year olds and 65 year olds how to do the Electric Slide, but, what you might not expect are the changes in a couple of the shows that have been given a special tweek just for the summer celebration.



Rock the night away with "Shamu Rocks" in the evening at Shamu stadium. Shamu's ditched the touchy-feely daytime show for a higher energy program set to some rock music played the way it's supposed to be played, loud.  Expect more whales at once, more jumps, and more whale tails splashing freezing cold whale water onto kids up front.



But, the real don't miss show is Sea Lions Tonite. You might be thinking "I just saw Clyde & Seamore at noon" but you'd be wrong. The show is completely different at night. You still get hoaky jokes and wholesome family fun but instead of "taking pirate island", they're taking over the entire park. You'll get great parodies of just about every attraction in the park.  (Wait 'till you see what they think of the Shamu trainers - jealous much?) What's better than a self deprecating sea lion? Watching a self deprecating sea lion with an ice cold after dinner beer, of course! Get your seats early - this one usually fills up.



Need some fireworks to cap off your night? Then I've got good news, Reflections finishes off the night with a great show right in the middle of the main lagoon. You can find seating at Bayside Stadium for the show but we prefer somewhere in the Waterfront area ourselves. Hope you don't mind some cool fountains mixed in with your cool fireworks.

The added fun and party atmosphere definitely make this a must do event. And you have not truly ridden Kraken or Manta until you've done it at night!
