Swan & Dolphin Resorts

1200 Epcot Resorts Blvd.
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

The Swan and Dolphin Resorts, located in the boardwalk loop, can't be missed thanks to their giant namesake statues on their respective roofs. Wait - is the Dolphin a fish? Anyway, these resorts provide some of the best dining and lounges on Disney property.

Epcot is only a short walk away, or you can also take one of the Friendship Boats to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. There is a walking path over to the Studios which is about a 10 min brisk pace walk, which can be significantly faster at times than taking the boat.

Food
The menu here is absolutely stellar - unlike anything available at Disney counter service. If you want something made with fresh, high-quality ingredients by talented chefs, look no further. You'll find a little of everything on their menu: chicken wings, salads, Korean BBQ sliders, Burgers, Flatbreads and more.

They are also running specials on Sundays during the 2013 Football season. Click on the pictures below for the full menu.

Fun Bar Grub

Nuts - Buffalo Honey Roasted or Buffalo Ranch - $2.50
House Made Pickle - $1

Atmosphere
As we mentioned, it's not the closest or easiest to find from Disney property, but it's well worth the trip. If you're walking over from the BoardWalk or the boats, it's on the other side of the Dolphin resort towards the back. There's a walking path outside or you can go through the inside of the resort. If you're driving, remember Swan & Dolphin charge for parking.

The pool area is huge - 2 massive pools with slides and plenty of chairs for relaxing. The large bar overlooks one of the pools. In addition to the traditional "Belly-up" stools you'll find a variety of lounging options from private cozy cabanas, casual wooden tables, to rattan chairs with umbrellas. You'll also find a few tvs spread throughout the bar area; they even brought out a 50" on a moveable stand for the big football game.

Review
Dominican Sneak Up
A refreshing and crisp, yet slightly tart cocktail with a heavy-handed pour of fine Dominican rum. The deceivingly strong drink will sneak up on you (Hey, wait. I just got the name). The freshly muddled kiwi adds an unexpected fresh fruit flavor to this hand-made cocktail.

Hibiscus Cooler
This light and fresh cocktail tastes like summer in a glass. Considering this is nothing but booze and fresh watermelon puree you might be pleasantly surprised by the lack of alcoholic punch in the flavor. If you like fruity cocktails this one will bring it to the HNL (Hole, 'Nother, Level - of course).

Potato Nachos
If you never thought nachos could be fancy, think again. Cabana Bar Chefs have outdone themselves again as they top house made potato chips with mozzarella, queso fresco, black beans, pico and - for the piece de resistance - Korean Braised Beef. Hot & crispy with a perfect ratio of toppings to chips. The beef is slightly sweet with a salty and sour BBQ bite. These nachos rank high on our all-time-favorite nacho list (and, trust us, it's a well researched list). For twelve bucks during a football game, these are hard to beat. Big enough for one person, or split between 2 with a second appetizer. These are highly recommended; put these nachos in your mouth.

Tomato Mozzarella Salad
A great simple, classic salad that's perfect on a hot Florida day. Juicy and ripe heirloom tomatoes with a fantastic creamy and lightly salty mozzarella topped with a basil drizzle and bits of prosciutto fried to a crisp and crumbled. We enjoyed the crispy, salty bite the rich-man's bacon added to the tomato and cheese. Not a very filling salad, but more of a special treat or a ritzy way to start a fancy meal.
